NASHVILLE, TN-Match Records announces artist showcase for the label’s Nashvilledebut. Four of Match’s most dynamic artists will join forces at the Basement on March 23rd to expose Middle Tennessee to the talent of Murfreesboro’s premier student-run record label.
Cade Ortego and the Mood Swings, Sav., Josie James, and Kyelen Arora will take the stage at 4:30 PM to showcase Match Records’ electrifying blend of musical prowess and authentic songwriting. Tickets are available now.
Kyelen Arora will take the stage first, lighting up the Basement with his distinctive mix of shred guitar-playing and almost youthful sincerity. Arora is a songwriter whose virtuosic playing and infectious melodies make him a great new addition to Match’s roster. Inspired by blues greats like Rory Gallagher and technical wizards such as Guthrie Govan, Arora seeks to add his name into the pantheon of his heroes.
Next up will be Josie James, a joyous songwriter whose tight band and trademark vocal quirks make her a force to be reckoned with. James is an alternative/indie singer-songwriter hailing from Atlanta, Georgia. With her soulful vocals, heartfelt lyrics, and captivating melodies, Josie has been making waves in the music scene. Her unique blend of alternative and indie sounds creates a mesmerizing musical experience that leaves listeners wanting more. Whether she's performing on stage or recording in the studio, Josie's passion for music shines through in every note!
Following her is sav., an alt-pop artist with an innate sense of fun and vibrancy that make her difficult to forget. sav. is a singer-songwriter and artist focused mainly in indie-pop and folk music while also exploring many other genres. She loves to create music with others and writing is one of her strongest assets. Performing is her favorite part of it all. The stage is where she feels she truly belongs and can shine!
Cade Ortego and the Mood Swings will close out the evening. One of Match’s newest signings, the Mississippi’s songwriter’s soulful backing band and timeless croon have him poised to break out across the Southeast. Inspired by the Motown and 70’s R&B era, the six-member band creates soul and funk music that is guaranteed to get a crowd grooving. Cade Ortego & The Mood Swings were signed to Match Records in the Fall of 2024, along with Kyelen Arora.
Match Records is a multi-genre, student-run record label services company that provides hands- on, real-world experience to students in the Recording Industry Department of MTSU’s College of Media and Entertainment. The Match Records team assists student-artists with marketing, branding, publicizing, promoting, and distributing their recorded music through various local and national outlets. The skills learned and the experiences gained are essential training for students interested in a career in the recording industry – on either side of the mic.
